Venue spotlight: the Metro

If you want to be amongst the first to see the next big music act, come out to the Metro theater in Wrigleyville.

It's the birthplace of many bands trying to make it in a big city. A lot of people don't know that Depeche mode, Billy Idol, and the Ramones all played the venue during their beginnings. The hip-hop and rap fan won't be disappointed either as artists such as Kanye West, Curren$y, and Big Sean all included the venue among their first tour.

The great thing about this venue is that it's cheaper than most despite it's accessible location off the Red Line. Tickets range anywhere from $10 to $40 depending on the act, and the venue itself provides an intimate atmosphere that the crowd can enjoy. It's a great place to catch an artist as they're approaching stardom.
