Venue spotlight: Smart Bar

This little gem lives underneath the Metro near Wrigley Field. Chances are you’ve unknowingly passed up the opportunity to check out Smart Bar after attending a concert at the Metro.

With a 21+ wristband from the venue, admission is free. There is an entrance next to the door to the Metro as well as a little entry within the main concert venue too.

The DJs here are ready to keep the crowded dance floor moving, a dance floor filled with mid to older twentysomethings who want to dance like they’re at the club but don’t want to dress like they’re at one. The space is intimate, with the dance floor ruling underneath the low ceilings.

Hit up the $3 super old school photobooth between DJs or if you need a break from busting it to the tunes. Overall, Smart Bar is an unpretentious club with danceable DJs and a packed floor of boogie shoes.
