Last year was my first winter in the actual city of Chicago (I'm from the northwest suburbs, okay?!). I had experienced the cold before, but never had I treaded the icy streets on foot. To sum things up, I fell at least once per every mile I walked.
This year, I decided to invest in a boot with a little more traction, but I wanted to avoid anything in the tennis-racket snowshoes category. I found these Thorogood American Heritage work boots on Amazon at a wonderfully discounted price and knew I had to pull the trigger.
The white soles add a great vintage look while promising "slip-proof" traction. And every time I look down at that tobacco colored leather/white-stitching combo, I feel like a need a slow motion video, right now.
And although the brand name brings to mind a plethora of Thor-related puns, the boots have quality comparable to Red Wing or any other big name brand.
I swear to Odin, you won't be disappointed with a boot like this.
