1. Nadastrom at the Metro, 5/27

If you’re looking for an excuse to dance the night before no-school Memorial Day, this is it. Another moombahton dance party event lands at the Metro, presented by One Night Stand, with genre-starters Nadastrom alongside another big name, DJ Sabo. Local talents Willy Joy and Team Bayside High will also play. This is maybe the biggest collection of moombahton acts in Chicago to date, and it’s 18+. 2. Queer is Community at Center on Halsted, 5/27

Center on Halsted will host a rally, speakout, vigil, panel discussion and performance. The goal is to “creating a space to open a dialogue around racism, transphobia, homophobia, biphobia, sexism, ableism, violence and any other limitations to community-building and to inspire positive change.” There is a suggested $5 donation. 3. Festival of Aloha at Old Town School of Folk Music, 5/24-27

4. The Early November at the Metro, 5/29

School’s almost out; you have reason to enjoy a good Tuesday night. New Jersey alternative/pop-punk/emo legends, The Early November, come to the Metro after a 4-hiatus from 2007-20011. 5. “Unfinished Business: Arts Education With the Guerilla Girls” at the Jane Addams Hull-House, 5/25

6. Belmont-Sheffield Music Festival on Sheffield from Belmont to School, 5/26-27

7. Coffee Cuppings at Counter Culture Coffee Chicago, 5/25
