1. The 15th Annual Chicago Improv Festival at various locations, 4/23-29

More than 75 improv groups from around the country and world will participate in the 15th annual Chicago Improv Festival kicking off this Monday. 2. Anthony Raneri of Bayside at Schubas, 4/22

The lead singer of pop-punk/emo band Bayside hits Schubas solo. This is his first solo tour in support of his solo album released in January, “New Cathedrals” (releases on Raneri’s self-owned label, Gumshoe Records). Go to www.schubas.com for more.

 

 


 

 

3. Kevin Farley at Laugh Factory, 4/19-22

4. Record Store Day 2012 at various locations, 4/21

The annual day to celebrate physically purchasing music from independent retailers takes place again this Saturday. Any place that sells music will surely be holding events, deals and specials. Check out this Sun-Times article for some great suggestions on where to celebrate.

 

 


 

 

5. Gemini Club EP release show at Lincoln Hall, 4/21

This three-piece Chicago indie-electronic dance band will play an 18+, $10 EP release show this Saturday alongside Pet Lions and Made By Man. They do on-the-fly remixes live, which could be the reason they have previous supported live acts like Two Door Cinema Club, A-Trak, Chromeo and more. 6. 2012 AMD Juried Student Art Exhibition Reception at Haber Gallery in the John T. Richardson Library, 4/19

The annual student art shows takes space in the library this weekend showcasing DePaul’s own artistic talents. 7. Rehab/Team Bayside High’s Spring Break Dance Party at Debonair Social Club, 4/23

This weekly Monday night dance party steps up a notch this week with a spring break themed party, the first themed Rehab event of the year. The 21+ club will offer no cover with a costume, and even local retailers will be offering discounts with mention of the event.
