1. Boutique Holiday Art Market at Le Gallery Thorndale, 12/10

Edgewater Artists in Motion presents this holiday art fair. Original artwork and other hand-crafted items will be on display for browsing on buying from 11am-5pm. 2. We Barbarians at Schubas, 12/11

The Brooklyn trio We Barbarians hits the quaint, beloved Schubas in support of their new EP, "Headspace." Looking for your winter anthem? Try the EP's title track. 3. "Fulton Street Sessions" preview at TUTA Theatre, 12/12

"Fulton Street Sessions" celebrates the tenth anniversary of the theater with this play's world premiere sneak peak. The play starts its run in February, but you can check it out early and even indulge in some light bites, wine, TUTA signature cocktails and a Q&A this Monday only. 4. Alien Queen: The Concert at the Metro, 12/10

Celebrate the imminent holidays with a concert/play/party that marries the merry with the scary. This tribute to Queen in the styling of the movie "Alien" might be the weirdest 18+ event this weekend, or the next, or the next. 5. ZooLights at Lincoln Park Zoo, 12/9-1/1

Soak in the sights at one of Lincoln Park's loveliest free attractions. The zoo decks itself out in colored holiday lights for your viewing pleasure for the season. They've even got ice carving demos, kids crafts and, of course, visits from Santa. Nearly 2 million lights will brighten zoo grounds, might as well stroll by at least once.

 


 

6. Handmade Market at the Empty Bottle, 12/10

Browse the handmade collection of arts and crafts with the 21+ set at this Western Avenue establishment. More than 30 local crafters show off their handiwork from noon to 4pm with jewelry, scarves, journals, handbags, clothing, greeting cards and all the other miscellaneous knickknacks in between. 7. Hard x Mouth Taped Shut Feat. Sebastian Ingrosso and James Murphy at Congress Theater, 12/9

Not only does this show feature Ingrosso of Swedish House Mafia and Murphy of LCD Soundsystem, but it's also free with RSVP and 18+. So, what's your excuse not to strap on your dancing shoes and make your way out to the famous, expansive Logan Square venue? Smells like Hard Fest is presenting you with Friday night fever.
