Fogo

Fogo 2 Go

Fogo 2 Go is the perfect place to grab a slice of pizza for lunch between classes or order online for Brazilian charbroiled chicken delivered right to your doorstep. The restaurant was created by Daniela Bettinazzi and Brad Kollar who were inspired by Sao Paulo, Brazil's hundreds of "fantastic pizzerias and trattorias."

The Fogo menu lists 60 different varieties of non-Chicago style pizza; some options familiar, others less so. The Marguerita pizza is a popular selection (whole-peeled-tomato-based sauce, Fiore de latte Mussarela, sliced Roma tomatoes, fresh basil) and usually available by the slice along with the standard cheese, pepperoni and meat lovers. A single slice and soda costs only about $4, making it a great lunch spot located only two blocks north of the Lincoln Park campus. Whole pizzas are also available, priced between $14 and $22 depending on size and toppings. (Buy one pizza and the 2nd pizza is half off.)

Despite their overwhelmingly pizza-based popularity, Fogo 2 Go is much more than a simple pizzeria: their chicken is unlike any other found in Lincoln Park. Served in quarters ($5.43), halves ($6.95), or wholes ($8.99-$10.99), it is doused in a delicious sauce, cooked to perfection—never reaching the point of dry—and comes with a charred pita and two sides. Side options include rice, black beans, corn, mashed potatoes, potato salad, coxinha, garlic knots and more.
