Giordano's. Need I Say More?

Chicago's beloved Giordano's has a widely underrepresented lunch deal that makes this world-famous pizza affordable for even us college folks who are already funneling the majority of our funds into, ahem, weekend activities. Below is the information covering each Giordano's location closest to DePaul's campus in both Lincoln Park and the Loop. Be sure to note time differences as well as whether or not a soup or salad and drink are included. Each of these specials applies to dine-in and carryout customers only. Here's what you need (and want) to know:

Belmont Giordano's

This location sits closest to DePaul's Lincoln Park Campus, just a 5-minute ride on the Red/Brown Line from Fullerton.

Time: Between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The Deals: One 6" (individual-size), stuffed cheese, pepperoni, spinach, or sausage pizza. This special (only available at the Belmont location) includes a soup or salad and drink for between $7 and $8. These same prices also apply to a number of their pastas, salads, and sandwiches (should you make the strange decision to pass on the famously delicious stuffed pizza) including their chicken sandwich and ravioli.

Jackson Giordano's

Giordano's location on Jackson is less than half a mile West of DePaul's Loop Campus (a little over 3 blocks); a short walk, one must admit, worth the upgrade from the Student Center's alternative pizza choice, Sbarro's.

Time: between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The Deals: One 6" (individual-size) stuffed cheese, pepperoni, sausage, or spinach pizza. Cheese pizzas are priced at $6.60 while the remaining three cost $7.70 for the extra ingredient. Unfortunately, this location does not include soup/salad and a drink.

Giordano's is commonly judged to be one of Chicago's defining pizza joints, particularly in regards to their world famous deep dish. It doesn't get much better than a cheap, personal-size stuffed pizza from one of the best. Don't forget to check Groupon before you go for one of Giordano's occasional deals.
