Record Store Day is tomorrow (Saturday)

Music fans rejoice. It’s Record Store Day eve. Be sure to get up nice and early if you plan on getting those special limited releases before they end up on eBay. We’ve listed some of our favorite local record stores below and what they have planned for the record store holiday.

Reckless Records (opens at 10 a.m.)

Reckless Records’s Wicker Park and Broadway locations will not only be selling Record Store Day goodies but will also be hosting a crap load of in-store shows. See the time below:

Saki (opens at 9 a.m.)

Saki is once again teaming up with Brooklyn Vegan to bring you a whole day of in-store performances along with some additional swag. The first 10-customers to enter the store will receive a free exclusive tote bag. Below is the band schedule:

1 p.m. Twin Peaks

2 p.m. Radar Eyes
3 p.m. The Oarsman
4 p.m. The Beets
5 pm. Pink Avalanche Š—¢ 6 p.m. Fake Limbs
CHIRP Radio DJs will be spinning between sets.

Laurie’s Planet of Sound (opens at 9 a.m.)

Not to be outdone, Laurie’s will also have a few goodies planned for music fans who stop by. The first 100 people to enter the store will all receive a special tote back. However, if you’re one of the first 40 to enter the store your tote bag will be filled some random surprises. Chubby Wieners will also be serving breakfast and lunch nearby if you get hungry. The first 80 people to make a purchase at the store will also get a free hotdog. Also, there will be live shows here as well:

9 a.m. – 12 p.m.: General chaos
12 p.m.: Nicholas Tremulis kicks off the live portion of our day.
12:30 p.m.: Edward Burch & the Grand Ennui will perform Mike Nesmith’s “And The Hits Just Keep On Coming” album in its entirety.
3 p.m.- Bloodshot Records recording artist Luke Winslow King
Around 3 p.m. or 4 p.m. – CHUBBY WIENERS Wiener Wagon will be out front with FREE HOT DOGS when you show them your receipt from the day.
3:30 p.m.- Dolly Varden
5 p.m.ish – Terri Hemmert will be hanging out behind the counter.
6 p.m. – 8 p.m.- BLVD Records + Modern Tapes present awesome minimal wave bands CLAPS & UNUR, with local ambient/drone master CINCHEL performing before/after/around.
