Electronica Weekly: Daft Punk

French Duo, Daft Punk, has emerged from the shadows. Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo have not produced any new music since the doing the soundtrack to “Tron: Legacy.”

Acclaimed by many as living legends the electronic music world, the French duo created hits such as “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger” (famously sampled by Kanye West in his song “Stronger”), and “Around the World.” Shaking Europe in the 2000’s, Daft Punk created a signature disco-house sound with their analog-sounding drums, and high frequency synths.

The duo will be returning with the release of Random Access Memories, their new album, and first on Columbia Records. The album is set to be released May 21, so the fans are going to have to listen to their oldies and until then.

“Human After All” was the first track and the name of their 2005 album. Their unique wobble, in combination with the vocals chanting “human”, create an old-school sound. Hopefully Daft Punk will return to Chicago this upcoming year. Until then, enjoy their discography.
